Garden Workshop: F&D Peninsula Community Grafting

We’re planting seeds of nourishment and community: join us Saturday, April 4th, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the East Palo Community Garden in East Palo Alto, for our F&D Peninsula Community Grafting workshop!
Join F&D for Community Grafting, offering a hands-on workshop teaching Peninsula community members the art and science of tree grafting. Led by Javier Rodriguez, a grafting specialist with over 10 years of experience, and Imelda Rodriguez Benavides, our workshops demonstrate proven techniques like V-grafting and side veneer grafting that help fruit trees produce 3-4 years faster than trees grown from seed.
We teach participants how to successfully graft citrus, stone fruit, and other trees while emphasizing proper timing, tool safety, and aftercare practices. Our goal is to empower home gardeners with the skills to maximize their garden space, preserve heirloom varieties, and enjoy homegrown fruit sooner. Whether you’re new to grafting or looking to refine your technique, our community-focused workshops provide the practical knowledge and support you need to succeed.
