When you partner with Fresh Approach, your service fees go directly towards programming such as free Veggie Rx classes, farmers’ market vouchers, and backyard garden installations for low-income families. You can feel good knowing that you are supporting community-led food systems in the Bay Area!

How do I schedule a team building activity with Fresh Approach?

Scheduling a Fresh Approach teambuilding is fast and simple with the use of our application form. Here, you can communicate your preferred dates, tentative headcount as well as other details. Upon submission, a Fresh Approach staff member will follow up with you via email.

Are there any fees associated with Fresh Approach team building activities?

Yes, team building with Fresh Approach is a service and we do have a tiered fee system for compensating the coordination, staff and material costs of the event. Once you fill out the application and understand the scope of the activity, we’ll be able to discuss any associated fees for facilitating the team building activity for you.

For teams with up to 15 participants, there is a suggested donation of $2000.

For teams with up to 20 participants, there is a suggested donation of $3000.

And for teams with up to 40 participants, there is a suggested donation of $5,000.

For nonprofit organizations or public schools that have limited budgets for team building activities, we encourage you to register for weekly volunteer garden workdays.

Is there a group size requirement or limitation for Fresh Approach’s team building activities?

For Fresh Approach’s team building activities, a minimum group size is around 15 people. Smaller groups are encouraged to join a regularly scheduled volunteer day at the garden for no additional fee. Fresh Approach can accommodate group sizes up to 40 people at the East Palo Alto Community Garden.

When can I schedule a team building activity with Fresh Approach?

Team building activities with Fresh Approach can take place throughout the calendar year when staff capacity allows. It is preferred that events be scheduled during weekdays during normal business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Suggested times may vary seasonally depending on the availability of natural light and hospitable temperatures to be working outside.

Is there an age limitation to team building activities for Fresh Approach?

Fresh Approach does have an age limitation. The general volunteer policy about persons under the age of 18 being required to provide guardian consent and to be accompanied by adults if under the age of 16. For school groups, we prefer a chaperone to minor ratio of 1:5 (negotiable depending on the age of the minors involved).

What if I have to cancel or reschedule a Fresh Approach team building activity?

Fresh Approach can work with schedule changes with advanced notice. If a teambuilding event is scheduled and cancelled within two weeks of the expected date, Fresh Approach may keep the coordination fee as a donation.
