Join Our Hands-On Jam Making Workshop – Perfect for Beginners! Learn how to transform fresh fruit into delicious, homemade jam using lab-tested research based techniques. Whether you’re preserving summer berries or crafting gifts for loved ones, this class will guide you every step of the way.
What You’ll Learn:
• Selecting and preparing seasonal fruits
• Balancing sugar, acid, and pectin for the perfect set
• Safe water-bath canning and sealing methods
Preserving fruit by turning it into jam involves boiling, sugaring, and sealing to prevent spoilage. Spaces are limited – reserve your spot today!
UC Master Food Preservers of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties are trained volunteers who extend UC research-based information about home food safety and preservation to the public, serving as local food preservation specialists and teaching classes on a wide range of food preservation topics. Their mission is rooted in science and community — helping people reduce food waste, increase food security, and connect with their food in meaningful ways. Please join me in welcoming them!
